More Money, More Love and Better Health with Human Design?

There’s a promise in Human Design that may be a different kind of promise than you’ve heard before.

If you’re like most of the people who are drawn to Human Design, you’ve probably been on a quest to discover how to create success in your life for a while. Maybe you’ve taken a couple of personal growth workshops, hired a life coach or read a lot of spiritual and personal development books.

You’ve probably played with some big spiritual ideas, too, like “surrender” and “release the ego,” “living in the now” and “aligning with abundance,” but you’ve experienced resistance or confusion inside of yourself.

Most personal growth or business products promise more love, more money or better health. These programs are often led by wealthy, charismatic individuals who have the energy to command a room or a large audience. The principles they teach are truth and presented in such a way that implies, “If I can do it, you can too.”

The “I can do it and you can too” model is a nice idea, a wishful idea. I’m not in any way saying that these teachers and leaders aren’t on to something that has, in most cases, worked very well for them. And can even work very well for some others like them.

But, we’re all different.

And because of our unique differences, what is possible for each of us is different. Some of us are designed for and truly desire massive financial wealth. Some of us will be giant body-builders; others will be skinny hammock dwellers. Some of us are real “Go Getters” by design and some of us will simply be at the right place at the right time and magic will happen.

There are many paths to abundance, about 7 billion by my last reckoning, and none of them is wrong, less than perfect or “un”-abundant.

If you look at the Human Design chart as a map for the possibility of humanity, within the chart is the promise of abundance. People are not designed to suffer, be broke, starve, experience pain, etc. We are designed to be healthy, wealthy and abundant in every way.

But the way in which we each experience and create abundance will be unique to each and every one of us.

We are not all created the same. That doesn’t mean that we don’t all have the same potential for wealth, health, good relationships and happiness. It’s just that we are each uniquely designed to create in our own special ways and what we define as wealth, health, good relationships and happy is different for each of us.

While the traditional ways of creating success work very well for some people who are designed to achieve success in that way, for others, the traditional path to success is a path of frustration, bitterness, burnout and exhaustion.

Human Design helps you understand your unique creative style and it also helps you define what success really means for you. Some of us are designed to really want and desire loads of financial wealth. Some of us feel fabulously wealthy when we have the freedom to spend time with our loved ones. Some of us dearly want to find fulfilling work. Others don’t want to work at all.

Neither of these things is wrong. They are simple different variations on what it can mean to “be successful.”

Society and our conditioning have a powerful hold over us and we can often feel that our own personal definitions of success are lazy, weak, silly or even ridiculous by society’s standards. There are “rules” we have to follow to create success, such as “hard work is the only way to make money.”

But not all of us can follow the “rules” very well. And for many of us, the “rules” simply don’t work. A “one size fits all” approach to creating a happy, successful life doesn’t make sense if we’re all different.

The struggle to “fit in,” “belong” and to embrace society’s definition of what is “right” and “successful” is really just about energy. The way we feel about ourselves, the “rules” and values that society dictates for us, the way we react to life is dictated by our own energy field and by the bigger collective energy field.

The Human Design chart is your personal electrical schematic. It’s a map to show you what kinds of energies are consistent for you and which energies you take in from the world around you.

When you know who you are and how your personal energy field operates, you discover your own inner authority that helps you navigate your way through the collective energy field. You may discover that you are in agreement with certain beliefs and energies that society holds dear and you may find that, in other areas, you are different.

The current trends in personal growth information claim that if you’re not experiencing “wild success” by society’s definition, then it may be a result of subconscious beliefs, traumas or problems with your “success” mindset. Again, these aspects are important. I’m not saying that your beliefs, past experience or your attitude won’t influence your success.

But often what is truly “blocking” us from creating the life we love, is a fundamental misunderstanding of what is truly right for us. We try to “reach for”, create or manifest this elusive concept of success that has been defined outside of our inner authority and, while it seems kind of appealing, underneath it all your True Self knows that that definition of success is not right for you.

Instead of allowing the life that’s right for you, we keep pounding away with different “manifesting” techniques and tools trying to blast away those “limits” that might actually be keeping you from creating something that isn’t right for you in the first place.

This whole idea can be scary at first. We are so conditioned to receive our direction from outside of ourselves that if we give ourselves permission to let our own inner authority take control of our lives we worry that maybe we are somehow doomed to be broke, suffer or be lonely. We don’t trust our own inner guidance and we wrestle with the prospect of being in control of ourselves. If we’ve led a life that is “less than successful” we may even be instilled with ideas that we are somehow less than worthy of abundance or that we are natural “screw-ups”.

Don’t worry. No one is doomed by design.

Most of us grow up without a strong realization of who we really are. Our energy fields are influenced by others around us and we don’t always know what is our personal truth versus what we’ve been told to believe is truth. We often lose touch with our authentic self.

One of the greatest sources of pain in life is the disconnect between the self you perceive yourself to be and the authentic self. The greater the distance between the two, the more discordant and painful your life can be.

The pain of this discordance is not dysfunction or “brokenness”. This pain is simply the “alarm system” of the authentic self telling you that there is more for you here than you realize and it might not look like your head thinks it should look, but it is much, much better…

The more you learn about yourself, the more freedom you’ll have to operate in the world creating a life that is in alignment with what’s right for you. When you understand your energy blueprint you can become the person you truly are instead of struggling to be someone you’re not.

Human Design promises that when you live an authentic life, when you act with your inner authority and live true to yourself, you will be abundant.

You might not live in a giant mansion. You might not be wearing a 10 carat diamond ring. You might not be what society considers “rich” or famous.

But you will feel like you are the most abundant person in the world, because your life will be the perfect reflection of your true wants, desires and intentions. Your life will be the perfect life for YOU! (And really, does it matter to anyone else?)

Fighting Fire with Fire?????

This is the second part in my installment about Human Design and children. Last week I talked about the first step in shifting our paradigms about children. This week I’d like to talk about what I think is the most important first step in creating a revolution in the education system (or anywhere else in the world or your life...).

My passion, as a Human Design teacher, is all about keeping it simple, so while there is a lot of big vocabulary and woo-woo stuff I could stick in this post, I’m going to try to keep is succinct and easy to understand. If you want to get more information about all of this, stay tuned…more to come!

Let’s start with the basics. If we’re going to create change in the school system or in any system, for that matter, we have to start first with where we are putting our energy and attention. It’s so easy, when you are feeling frustrated or disempowered with a system to respond and react.

I find it fascinating that in Human Design the energy for Revolution (49th Gate) is also the energy for intimacy and agreements. The energy for revolution is located on the Emotional Solar Plexus and has the potential to be very cut and dry or black and white. It’s the, “That’s It, I’m Outa Here” gate but it can also be a gate that asks of us to be deliberate in re-working our agreements and connections.

If we stay focused on the intention and take our time (The Emotional Solar Plexus needs time for clarity.) we can come to new agreements that lead to harmony and peace.

I am absolutely certain that our education system is in need of a major revolution. When over 30 percent of the children in the system are diagnosed with psychological disorders and learning disabilities, it makes me suspicious of the system. How can one in three children have problems with learning?

If you look at the Human Design chart as the archetype for the potential for humanity, you will see that there are multiple combinations of ways people learn. It only makes sense that in an education system that has a limited approach to teaching and educating that a bunch of kids are going to fall through the cracks and be classified as “learning disabled.” (Want to learn more? http://www.karencurry.tsemedia.com/articles/article/2243258/30059.htm)

This shouldn’t be a revelation to any of us. Since the early 60’s, education experts have been saying that there are different kinds of learning styles and multiple kinds of intelligences. This isn’t news.

And, yes, it’s easy to want to pull your hair out and scream with frustration over the inadequacies of the system, especially if your child falls into the 1/3 that isn’t best served by our schools. (I have a couple of those kinds of kids myself.)

But, before we can start a revolution, we have to be thoughtful, clear and deliberate. We have to take time to focus our intention and start first with looking at what IS working in the system before we react and burn the whole building down.

Personally, I have had more than my fair share of run-ins with the public school system. I have five children ranging in age from 2 – 21. I homeschooled four of my kids for 11 years.

I have a couple of kids who LOVE school. I have one kid who claims that her public school education robbed her of her love of learning and another kid who is on the Every Other Year education program. (That means that I homeschool him every other year because he can only handle public school one year at a time before he starts to go insane.)

I have been visited by Child Protective Services because I withdrew my son from school without filing the right paperwork. I have gone head-to-head, toe-to-toe with school psychologists, teacher and principals. I’m not going to lie. I have been rude, irate, beside myself and very, very angry at times. (I have the 50-27 in my Human Design chart. I have big, big Mama Bear energy and if you hurt my kids, look out. I cannot guarantee you will live. And, no, it’s not rational. It’s all about survival.)

Here is what I learned. The more I yelled, the more I got in trouble with different administrative representatives and the less help and support I got. The “squeaky wheel” only got me sent to the principal’s office, literally. The more I focused on the problem, the bigger the problem got. And the “elegant solution” was never discovered.

We are all designed to be abundant. There are no gates for suffering, pain or trauma in the charts. Some of us, by nature, will make choices that are more challenging than others but for those of us designed to live that way, those challenges are a part of our own personal evolution. With awareness, those challenges can be met with delight and anticipation.

When you live your strategy and relax into your design, you open yourself up to a life that is abundant, more pleasant and reawakens you to “the possibility and the wonder of your life.” (Ra Uru Hu)

But it all has to start with deliberation, intention and focus. The more you trust life, your natural place in the order of life and abundance that is waiting for you, the faster you can embrace the possibility and wonder that is your life.

Your abundance will be uniquely tailored to you. Your life holds exactly what you need and want when you live your strategy.

But, I digress. (Sorry, got swept up in the possibility and wonder of it all…. ;-)

Revolution is deliberate and the archetype of humanity calls for careful action that feels correct. Before we can revolutionize our education system, we have to take a step back, get clear about what we want, focus on the things that ARE working, appreciate the teachers and all of those people in the system who have dedicated their lives to helping children.

You cannot fight fire with fire. We must ask ourselves what are we for, not what are we against. And then we can create what we intend, a system that honors and meets the needs of each individual within it.

Of course, this is only the very first step. We have a lot of evolving and very exciting creating to do.

Next week: Revisiting ADD, Human Design and other “learning disabilities”…

For Those of us who Used to be Children...

Here is an email that I received from one of my subscribers. I think this amazing woman poses some very, very important questions that we all need to be thinking about:

“I am the mother of a six year old autistic
child and a third grade teacher. I ask this of you because of a
workshop you offered some time ago and thought you would be able to
offer suggestions. If you would be so kind as to take the time to
question and answer what you believe we should be doing for our
children to prepare them for what they will be responsible for in
twenty years? What are you doing for yours, I know you have a few of
your own what are your thoughts? I would appreciate any time you could
offer to answering this question. It is a concern as I try to meet
their needs in the world of Public Education.”

Over the next few weeks I will be posting some of my responses on my Human Design blog. I hope that you will join me in this conversation and that some of our collective insights might help you help the children in your life.

I will start with some of my personal thoughts and ideas and then follow up with some thoughts related to Human Design, as well as intentional parenting.

(If I sound radical or even slightly frustrated in sharing some of my ideas, please forgive me. This topic is a pretty hot topic for me personally as a mother of five children and a child development specialist. My intention is to offer some solutions and creative ideas but I can’t promise I won’t take off on a tangent periodically….)

My first thought in answering the question what should we be doing for our children to prepare them for what they will be responsible for is this. We have to “clean up” our own issues, conditioning and belief systems that keep us from seeing our children as the perfect creatures they are designed to be.

My dinner table has been a gathering place for many teenagers over the 8 years. I have borne witness to some pretty amazing conversations and brilliance coming out of the mouth of “babes”. If we are to deliver our world into the hands of the young adults, teens and children of today, I think that the world and its inhabitants are going to be in pretty good hands.

I think we are the ones we should be worried about first. I would argue that in order to effectively “raise” the next generation, we need to carefully examine some of our old beliefs that I believe no longer really apply to children of today.

Here are some basic beliefs that I invite us to think about releasing:

1. Children don’t have a natural urge to learn. If we leave them to their own devices, all they’ll do is play and goof off.

2. Children need to suffer to learn.

3. Discipline, rigor and repetition are the only ways a child can master anything.

4. Children misbehave because they want attention.

5. Children misbehave because they are spoiled.

6. Children misbehave because they are stubborn.

7. Children are selfish and self-centered and need to be trained to be compassionate, giving and to care about others.

8. Children can’t control how they behave.

9. Your child’s behavior is a reflection of your adequacy as a parent.

10. There is a formula to raising and education children “correctly”. Follow the formula and “poof”…you get a perfect child.

11. Play is a frivolous part of childhood. So is the freedom to experiment and explore.

12. Spanking and good, hard discipline = love to a child.

13. Total freedom = love to a child.

There are many more beliefs that we need to give some serious thought to. I welcome your thoughts and I propose a new paradigm for supporting children in the natural “unfolding” of who they are.

First and foremost, the most important question anyone who loves a child (or adults, even!) needs to ask is this:

Who are you and how can I best support you on your journey?

The second thing we need to consider is how has our own upbringing and social/collective conditioning contributed to our perception of children? How we are conditioned to “see” our children greatly influences our expectations and how we treat our children.

Let me clarify. Look at the picture below and see the image of two people’s faces looking at each other:

Do you see them?

Now look at the image again. Do you see the vase?

Usually, when people look at this optical illusion, they will see the image that they expect to see. If I say faces, most people will see faces. If I say vase, most people will see a vase.

What you are conditioned to expect influences your perception.

This isn’t just woo-woo consciousness stuff. It’s actually neurobiology. Our brains contain an information selection system call the Reticular Activating System (RAS). At any given point in time, we have the potential to be overwhelmed by stimulation. The RAS creates an “information filter” in your brain so that you only pay attention to the stimulation that is alignment with your expectation.

How many times have you decided to purchase a new car and suddenly seen that car everywhere you go. Are there really more of those cars on the road or are you noticing them because that particular car is part of your information filter?

In relationships, people will often rise (or fail) to meet our expectation depending on our expectations and beliefs, i.e. our conditioning.

People have basic needs. Human Design shows us that in the highest expression of our True Self we are:

· Perceive ourselves as lovable

· Have high self-worth

· Live and express ourselves authentically

· We are courageous and take leaps of faith

· We know how to make effective decisions and have a sense of personal power

· We are emotionally wise

· We understand our own “knowingness” and trust our own insights

· We know how to leverage our energy so that we are sustainable in life

When children (and adults) are not being supported in expressing these energies appropriately, they will misbehave or in some way challenge the system.

In other words if a child (or adult) is not feeling, lovable, worthy, authentic or like their choices are respected and if they are frightened, emotional and tired, they will misbehave or have other challenges.

Misbehavior is simply a way to communicate that someone is not aligned with their Truth.

When we understand this, it helps us to rewrite some of our old beliefs about children. This awareness helps us understand that misbehavior is simply a child’s way of communicating that they aren’t feeling loved, valued, powerful and accepted for who they are.

When we, as teachers, parents, grandparents and people who used to be children ourselves understand these key needs, we can begin to support children in finding appropriate ways to communicate their needs and support the child in discovering ways to get their basic needs met.

I believe that each human being is a uniquely designed, magnificent being. (Children and adults alike.) The way in which we express and feel our lovability, power and worthiness will be different for each and every one of us.

True love comes when you accept and create space for someone to be exactly as they are created to be. Human Design is a powerful tool to help you truly see your Loved Ones (and yourself) and support them in expressing their Divine Magnificence.

When you understand how your child, parent, friends, lovers, partners are energetically wired, you learn how to honor who they are, treat them with respect and love them without the blinders of conditioned expectations.

Valentine’s Day is next week. (Truthfully, I’m not a huge fan of V-day. I prefer to love wildly every day of the year!)

Born This Way...

I was a weird little girl. When I was small I had an “imaginary” friend named, Thomas, who went everywhere with me. I have a lot of memories of riding around in the back seat of my Mom’s car, enjoying long conversations with my magical friend.

When I was four Thomas gave me two important directives for my life. He told me that I am here to teach alchemy and that I am to go out into the world and teach only love.

Those two statements rolled around in my head my entire youth. My journey to becoming a teacher of alchemy and love has been a long and sometimes convoluted one. (I didn’t even know what alchemy meant until I was about 30!)

Over time, after being bankrupt, divorced, losing a house, getting my car repossessed, and struggling for many years with finances and, finally learning how to gain the financial “upper hand”, I naturally grew into being a teacher of alchemy.

But the teaching love part was hard.

I confess, I’m still learning about love and relationships.

One of the aspects of love that I have always struggled with is the notion of unconditional love. As child with huge religious fantasies and a deep love of martyrdom and sacrifice I cognitively understood the concept of unconditionally loving someone.

In my very dramatic mind, I could easily conjure up fantasies of being smacked in the face and then graciously turning my other cheek while whispering, “I love you” to my victimizer. (I told you I was a weird kid.) In my innocence, I thought that was how you unconditionally love someone.

Of course, that was before I learned to love myself. (Now I would lovingly kill anyone who treated me that way.)

When I became a mother, my understanding of love moved to a level that, still to this day, exceeds my cognitive ability to understand and certainly defies my ability to articulate. The love I feel for my children is bigger than my heart, larger than my body and stretches way beyond the rational confines of my mind. Mother Love is this unending ribbon of light and love that I will dance upon through all my days here in this lifetime and beyond…

But is it unconditional?

I think it is as unconditional as it will get in my limited human expression. I am certain that I will always love my children, but are definitely places that come from my own human conditioning that give me pause for thought.

For example, my Dad was the first person to go to college in his family. He went to Marshall University on the GI Bill while working full time and starting a family with two small children and taking care of a third child from his previous marriage. Working hard to get ahead is a big deal in my family.

I now have four teenagers living in my house. (Yes, they are all mine.) The oldest two are in college, one at a four year school and the other in junior college. I would be lying if I said that I am thrilled that my oldest daughter is choosing an Associates degree over a Bachelor’s degree. Oh, and did I mention that she’s moving in with her boyfriend at the ripe old age of 19???!!!

I’ve really had to wrestle with my own judgments about my daughter’s choices. And I feel guilty that I’m so thrilled about my oldest son’s success in college and I’m proud of his “A” average (…like I’m the one who did all the work to earn the A’s, right?).

And now, my youngest son, who is sixteen, is talking about joining the military and not going to college at all…more stretches for the human limits of my heart…

Aaaaahhh….but there is still My Great Hope…my middle daughter wants to go to M.I.T. and get a double major in engineering and design.

Please know that my tone here is kind of self-mocking. I don’t think that I love my children any less because of their choices but I do feel that I am still attached to how they show up for their own lives, like it’s really any of my business!!!!

And, I do believe that my judgments about their choices does lend a certain subtle “conditional” slant to the way I love them. (And yes, I can hide behind the idea that I just want what’s “best” for them and this is why I’m reacting, but that’s not really true. I do still have a charge on wanting to be viewed as a “good” Mom by others and, of course, we all know that “good” mother’s have children who get Ivy League educations and all the other mothers are just “average”, right?)

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!

Of course, I’m talking about my Mother Love which is the easiest and, arguably, the most powerful kind of love on the planet. If I’m still struggling with conditionality related to how I feel about my kids, imagine how challenging it can be to be “unconditional” with our lovers, our other family members and friends.

This is why I love Human Design so much! Human Design is truly a powerful tool to help you understand others and to see that so much of what we judge, criticize and even dislike people for, is often just an expression of their personal energy, or the dynamics of your composite energy and…

IT’S NOT PERSONAL.

Let me share some examples with you. (You might find that you have some of your own examples in your life, too.)

I have a friend who is extremely powerful by design. If you look at his Human Design chart you would see that he is all about bringing change to the world. He is driven by opinions, provocative, emotional, and he’s not designed to initiate. He’s a Generator with an undefined Throat Center and needs to wait to be recognized by the people who are ready to honor and value the change he is here to share with the world.

He’s also doubtful and suspicious by nature so he thinks most of what I do is Woo-Woo-Hooey.

Most people think this guy is an arrogant *****. But that’s because they don’t understand his place in the Human Puzzle.

Let me explain.

All of humanity is like an amazing puzzle with 7 billion (or more) pieces. A puzzle is only as beautiful as the conglomerate of its pieces.

If you have dogs or small children, you know that puzzle pieces get torn or otherwise mangled. (Or, if you are a Manifesting Generator with an open Root Center and the urge to complete the puzzle and your frustration gets the better of you, some pieces get sort of smashed into an incorrect spot because you can’t be bothered to find the right one…)

When the pieces of the puzzle are torn or missing, it affects the full expression of the puzzle. Each one of us is a crucial piece in the Puzzle of Humanity. And, even though in relative comparison, each piece seems small, we cannot come together and express the full magnificence of humanity if some of our pieces are torn or missing. We are all hugely significant.

When we don’t allow each other to be the fullest expression of ourselves as our Magnificent Selves, we, in essence, are mangling and tearing pieces of the Human Puzzle.

Here’s the deal.

Not everyone is designed to be nice. Some people are moody, emotional, provocative, bossy, critical, wimpy, nurturing, sweet, compulsive, impulsive, obsessed or lacking in focus by Design.

Some people are here to experience all that life has to offer. Others are designed to stay at home and cook big pots of stew and kiss boo-boos. Some of us are designed for adventure. Others are here to maintain the status quo. Some of us have direction and we know it from the start of our lives. Others of us are here to experience all the permutations and directions that life offers us.

Some people are easy to get along with and like. Others are more challenging.

And we all play a crucial role in the Human story.

And being loved for who we are…warts and all…is something we all deserve.

The mechanics of personality and even the mechanics of how we interact in relationship are not personal. It’s just energy and we can’t necessarily control the energy.

Be we can control our response to it. That part IS personal.

I would not love my children with the same degree of openness and willingness to allow them to be the fullest expression of who they are if I didn’t understand their unique piece of the puzzle.

According to Human Design, my oldest son is subject to the expectations of others. He is also here to be a leader and a change agent. But I will never know if I really see him for who he is or as a projection of my own expectations. I have to work doubly hard with him to allow him to own his own accomplishments (and failures).

My oldest daughter is designed to learn about life through experimentation. Falling down and getting back up is crucial for her to become the very wise woman she is well on her way to becoming.

My youngest son is emotional, moody, romantic and nurturing. He is the Incarnation Cross of Laws and has a life story about taking care of others and preserving rules and values for the greater good of the whole. The military might be a great place for him to have a consistent way to take care of people.

My middle daughter is designed to question her lovability. She might really want to go to MIT or she might unconsciously know that would “please” me. As a mother, I am working hard to detach from her choices so she can make the right choices for herself, not the ones she thinks will make me love her more. I already love her madly.

And my baby is designed to be intense, manage and guide others and to think about things in new and unique ways. Her energy is very different from my other kids and I know we’re going to have a delicious adventure together!!!

Knowing these little tidbits about my children (and more…) allows me to support them in the natural unfolding of who they truly are and who G-d designed them to be. I am grateful for this knowledge because it helps me transcend my own parenting baggage and serve as a better steward for these precious souls who have entrusted me with their care.

As we enter the holiday season, I invite you to remember the Puzzle of Humanity and the unique role each one of us plays in completing the puzzle.

Take this time to ask yourself how you can love yourself, your friends, your lovers, your family and even strangers more deeply, more “unconditionally”. And then celebrate the immense and breath-taking diversity of All of Us.

Pretty frickin’ awesome, isn’t it???

Be Yourself

*  In an effort to help you learn more quickly, I have recorded this blog post for those of you who prefer to listen rather than read.  To listen, click here:

Our lives are the sum total of all the decisions we’ve made. Where we are today is directly a result of our choices.

There is great power in understanding these statements.

You can either beat yourself up because you’re not where you want to be and you wish, in hindsight, that you’d made different choices. Or, you can embrace the thought that you can change your life right now by making different choices.

One of the keys to creating a life you love, is knowing how to make great choices.

That’s where things get complicated.

There are so many reasons why we struggle to make the choices that are correct for us. The truth is most of us are taught to use our minds to make decisions. We learn to find “logical” and reasonable reasons why we “should” or “should not” do something. We give our thoughts power over the rest of our ways of “knowing” and often make decisions that feel bad in our hearts or our “guts”, but we push forth anyway because we’ve been trained to give our minds dominion over our lives.

One of the reasons I love Human Design so much is that it gives you a unique strategy that allows you to make decisions in a way that is correct for you. My intention for this article (and the ones that follow) is to show you how your unique Human Design empowers you to make good, strong, abundant decisions for yourself in a way that honors who you are and is correct for you.

In other words, I want to help you understand your Human Design so you can learn how to know how YOU know and how to trust yourself and your own “knowing”. You are, after all, the only one who can make good choices for yourself.

Over the next few weeks I will be writing about the Nine Centers in Human Design and how these energy centers can be leveraged to help you make good decisions in your life. I have found, after doing Human Design readings for more than 10 years now, that giving people an understanding of their personal energy blueprint (aka Human Design) helps them make empowered, authentic choices.

(In other words, when you know who you are and how you operate, your decisions won’t be as likely to be influenced by false obligations, guilt, lack of clarity, old conditioned patterns and limiting beliefs.)

In addition, I will include Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) setups and instructions along with affirmations to support you in embracing the magnificence of YOU in the easiest way possible.

Change is good. Transformation can be fun. Learning will be easy!

I’m going to start with some simple Human Design information. (If you’d like to learn more, check out the Human Design Level One training or…stay tuned…I’m offering a nice “treat” for Halloween…that will help you learn more about your personal chart.)

When you look at your Human Design chart you’ll notice that some bits are colored in and some are white. The colored in parts are called “defined”. Because this is essentially a “map” of your personal energy, the colored in parts are consistent parts of your energy. These are aspects of yourself that stay the same over time and are, in essence, your authentic self.

Defined aspects of your chart are energetic signal transmitters. These are the energies that you send out into the world.

The white parts of your chart are called “open” or “undefined”. Open parts of your chart are places in your energy system where you take energy and information in from the world and people around you. And you don’t just take energy in here, you actually amplify energy here so it can feel pretty intense sometimes, depending on who you’re with and where you are.

Where you have openness in your chart is where you can become wise about energy and where you truly “know” others. But, because undefined energy is inconsistent, meaning it changes depending on who you’re with and where you are (and, to a certain degree, with the movements of the planet), these energies are not reliable or dependant. They can change, and they do, all the time.

Because we not only perceive energy in our open Centers and Gates in our chart, but we also amplify these energies, it’s very easy to feel like we are what we are not.

Our open Centers take in energy in unpredictable ways and, over time, we develop consistent behavioral patterns that help us manage the unpredictable nature of our open energy Centers. These behaviors can sometimes help us but usually keep us from living authentically.

So. Let’s keep this simple.

1. If you are raised by a person who has an energy that you don’t, it’s easy to feel like you have that kind of energy and to mistakenly act as if you do.

2. When you grow up and leave home, you aren’t around that kind of energy, but you still act like you do.

And trying to be what you’re not is exhausting and causes you to feel confused about what you want for your own life.

Ok. Back to this issue of clarity, thinking and decision-making…this part is kind of funny…

Most of us don’t have consistent energy for thinking. Only one out of eight people get their inspiration from the inside of their heads (aka “thinking). The rest of us get our inspiration from outside of ourselves.

Yet, we are deeply conditioned by belief systems (and even an educational system) that teach us that “thinking” is the way to clarity and good decision making.

For most people, “thinking” doesn’t really create clarity! In fact, someone who has an open Head Center and is designed to experience unlimited inspiration from the world outside of him or herself, is bound to be overwhelmed with choices, questions, thoughts and possibilities and the more they “think”, the more confused they can become.

When you understand your unique energy blueprint, the magnificence of your definition and the wisdom of your openness, you begin to understand how you operate. And when you truly know yourself, it gets much easier to make good choices.

I have to digress on one more important introductory thought for this week’s post.

This is a very personal thought that is the foundation of everything I do and teach. I hope you will embrace it deeply into your heart because understanding this thought can give you the keys to a truly joyful life.

We are hard-wired to be abundant in every way. We are supposed to be happy, healthy, loved, loving, prosperous, safe, excited, joyful and everything else good you can think of.

It is our conditioned resistance to this natural state that keeps us from our good.

You are an incredibly special and magnificently unique Divine Creation.

Period. The end.

And to live out your unique “niche” in life, you need to know who you are and how you operate. You don’t have to figure things out. You don’t have to meditate, say mantras, write affirmations…all you have to do is be yourself. The rest falls into place naturally.

I believe that understanding your unique Human Design gives you the knowledge necessary to line up with your Divine Inheritance of authentic abundance.

Human Design gives you a solid strategy that helps you live Your life. Your way.

I hope that in the next few weeks I can show you how simple it can be to claim your abundance and create a life that feels good to you!

And I look forward to the honor of working with you personally to show you exactly how to Be Your(magnifenct)self.

Have a wonderful week!

Love,
Karen
